FLOWARE

Floware is a French deep-tech IoT startup that develops embedded artificial intelligence solutions for traffic monitoring and urban mobility analysis. Its sensors, which do not use cameras or facial recognition, ensure privacy and data sovereignty—a stance that is fully aligned with the principles of responsible digitalization championed by CARA. Floware’s solutions lie at the intersection of three CARA cluster research programs:

1) Transportation Systems and Intelligence : Floware’s technological core relies on embedded AI and IoT connectivity to generate real-time multimodal traffic data (vehicle counting, mode identification, incident detection). This is an ITS technology building block that directly supports traffic flow optimization and intelligent infrastructure management.

2) Safety and Security : SafeFlow, the flagship product developed in partnership with CEREMA, is a solution for analyzing intersection hazard levels. It addresses the “analysis of accident factors” and “detection/perception of vulnerable users” pillars of CARA’s Safety program by generating objective safety assessments at intersections to protect cyclists and pedestrians.

3) Mobility, Practices, and Governance : By providing open data that complies with the Data Governance Act, Floware helps equip local authorities with the tools they need to manage mobility. SafeFlow CVL, a candidate for the AMI Climate Data Hub in the Centre-Val de Loire region (an area covered by CARA), aims to promote active mobility by objectively assessing safety conditions, a direct lever for decarbonizing passenger mobility.
