K-Motors produces a module called Hyperkappa, consisting of a pack of supercapacitors and a power electronics (patented) allowing hybridization with any type of lithium battery. When an electric vehicle brakes, it releases a kinetic energy that is 90% recovered in the Hyperkappa, which discharges as soon as the next acceleration. This process relieves the lithium battery, which takes over only at the time of stable phases (constant speed). This solution increases the vehicle’s range, lengthens the life of the lithium battery (which undergoes much less peak load/discharge), and reduces operating costs. K-Motors will market its Hyperkappa to the various players in electromobility: manufacturers and equipment manufacturers of electric vehicles.
