Power electronics is a major pillar of today’s and tomorrow’s mobility. This theme of the future unites a large number of players in our network.

This year, CARA has chosen to bring you, the power electronics industry, together to take stock of development prospects and to allow you to meet and exchange ideas. The objective of this day is also to bring you the specific vision of 4 French prime contractors.

The 4 challenges of the power electronics day

  • Power electronics in the vehicles of tomorrow
  • Importance of data in tomorrow’s charging
  • Contribution of new power electronics technologies to the LCA of electric vehicles
  • Optimization of power electronics for railways

Between plenary sessions, pitch sessions, company corners, exhibition of research posters, and networking time, everything in this day will be conducive to exchanges and discussions!

Programm

9:30am : Plenary session #1 : Power electronics in tomorrow’s vehicles (ERS, H2, hybridization, battery…)

  • Intervention of Stellantis: (20 minutes and 10 minutes of Questions/Answers)
  • The client’s presentation is followed by 3 solution provider pitches of 10 minutes each. The objective of these pitches is to respond to the needs mentioned by the client.

10:50am: Coffee break with stands and research posters

11:20am: Plenary # 2: Importance of data in tomorrow’s recharging (cybersecurity, data ownership, smartgrid, battery optimization…)

  • Intervention of ATOS (20 minutes and 10 minutes of Questions/Answers)
  • Session of 2 pitches (10 minutes each)
  • Presentation by ENEDIS (20 minutes and 10 minutes of Questions/Answers)
  • Session of 2 pitches (10 minutes each)

12:40pm: lunch cocktail

2:00pm : Plenary #3 : Contribution of new power electronics technologies to the LCA of electric vehicles

  • INDRA on recycling, reuse and design optimization (motors, battery modules, EP cases) to facilitate recycling (10-15 minutes)
  • Intervention of STMicroelectronics (20 minutes + 10 minutes)
  • Session de 4 pitchs (10 minutes chacun)

3:30pm : Coffee break with stands and research posters

4:00pm : Plénière n°4 : Optimization of power electronics for railways

  • RENAULT TRUCKS‘ presentation: The importance of power electronics in tomorrow’s trucks (20 minutes and 10 minutes of Questions/Answers)
  • Session of 2 pitches (10 minutes each)
  • SIEMENS’ presentation: Optimization of power electronics for railways (20 minutes and 10 minutes of Q&A)
  • Session of 2 pitches (10 minutes each)

5:10pm : Conclusion and closing of the day
