CNRS goes beyond the frontiers of knowledge

CETHIL is a joint research unit (UMR 5008) of INSA Lyon, CNRS and Université Claude-Bernard Lyon 1. The applications of the work carried out at CETHIL are varied, in sectors such as aeronautics and space, automotive, electronics, housing, nuclear and renewable energy. They are often required by the needs of the energy transition.

The laboratory’s research covers the fields of thermal and its application to various energy systems. CETHIL is one of the only laboratories at the national and international level that deals in a continuum with such a wide range of scales of lengths and temperatures: from the nanostructure to the building, from liquid helium to combustion and ice slurry.
