Joint Research Unit 5256 CNRS-Université de Lyon, IRCELYON brings together the heterogeneous catalysis forces of the Lyon region and is the largest catalysis laboratory in France and Europe, with a hundred permanent staff of the CNRS and Higher Education and at least as many students, trainees, post-doctoral students and visiting researchers from thirty different countries.

Structured in 5 research teams supported by an outstanding administrative, technical and scientific platform, the activities of IRCELYON are at the heart of sustainable development with energy, the environment and green chemistry as major concerns.

Open to industry and the international, IRCELYON maintains cooperation and collaboration actions with more than 30 countries and works in close contact with a large number of French and international industrial partners.
